VDOT will be working on eliminating root bumps on the Trail throughout Charles City and Henrico beginning March 31st. Please use caution when passing by the work zone.

Sewer construction near mm 45

There will be a temporary detour between MM 45 & MM 46 for sewer line construction beginning in April. Construction is expected to last for 2 weeks. Please use caution when passing through this area.

VDOT Replacing Truncated DOmes in Henrico County

VDOT is replacing the truncated domes (ADA warning pads) along the Trail throughout Henrico and Charles City County. Please slow down and use caution when navigating around the cones and passing VDOT workers.

Lighting Installation Planned for 2025 near mm 51 (Rocketts Landing)

Beginning in 2025, self-sustaining lighting will be installed along the Capital Trail throughout the Rocketts Landing area (between MM 50 - MM 51) for increased pedestrian safety. This installation may include workers and equipment on or near the Trail. Please use caution when proceeding through the area.
